This area is the home of what will hopefully be the new force in Australian Politics - The Action Party. I would point out that as a political party, the Action Party isn't an official organisation - yet. This section presents the policies of the Action Party.

IMPORTANT: This party is NOT related in any way, shape or form to the deluded "Canadian Action Party".

AUSTRALIA is at the crossroads of change. A change which has taken a long time to happen, and will continue. We need to put ourselves in the best position to benefit from this change in the best possible way. To do this we have to eliminate some big problems, economically, socially and practically. Until we do, we can not be a fully active partner with any Asian country, or the United States or Europe. To try to be so before we are ready will ultimately put us at the mercy of another economic power, no matter what our own policies may be.

My government will commit itself to the people. We may be a political party, but we are a community-based party. We take an interest in what people think, not exclusively what the unions, primary producers and big business executives think. No one is more important to my government that the next person when it comes to listening to the people.

Of course, there are those individuals or groups who we will ignore, only because they have proved that they are totally out of touch with the real modern world, and indeed the majority of Australians. Groups like One Nation, people like Fred Nile, Margaret Tighe, and any other individual or group who represents an extreme view - whether it be left wing or right wing - and will not compromise that view, preferring to get other people to think the way that they do and argue with them if they don't.

Whenever we decide on a course of action whilst in government, we will always throw the issue open to the people. We want to hear from you, either through your local member or directly. We prefer the direct approach. On this website, we reveal our policies for election, and we ask you to judge us on these policies. Not any peripheral issues, on our policies.

As of this moment, we are not ready for free trade. The world wants free trade and in theory this is good. But, people of Australia, we are not ready it, yet. We have many problems to solve before we can even consider it.

The policies are contained in this website, with links on the bottom of this page. They concentrate on financial and social issues that are important to all Australians. This website will evolve with the times and the issues that arise. At present there are 65 policy issues available. This will almost certainly increase as other issues are brought to the attention of the Action Party. It is hoped that nothing major has been missed, and if something has indeed been missed it needs to be brought to the attention of the party as soon as possible.

These policies are just the beginning. We have a lot of work to do to make this country a better place to live for everyone. Free of crime, heartache, unreasonable anger and frustration and lack of job security. The changes we will make are big, but the world is changing around us. We must be ready to move with that change when we are called on to participate in full. We have a lot of work to do to achieve this, and we can do it with a social conscience. The current government will do it without a social conscience. A Labour government with do it solely on the union's terms. A One Nation controlled parliament will make the good policies that exist on both sides useless and they will discriminate against minorities. A Democrat controlled Senate will play along with the incumbent government like lap dogs. Don't vote informal. Don't waste your vote. Use it to make it count.

Take ACTION!

NOTE: The contents of this section of this website are not a part of a party platform by a registered political party in Australia. The Action Party is not a registered political party. Membership may be available as a voluntary organisation at some future time when the party can be properly constituted and registered consistent with the appropriate laws.
