REACTION PARTY | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
The Reaction Party was a hostile reaction to the Action Party, formed by Michael Lowe in late 2005. Michael, under the Internet ID of Argent on the Aus Boards forum, created it in order to defame and mock my political ideals, which I would have acted against if the Action Party had been a real political party. This included some ridiculous policies that included; * A flat income tax instead of a progressive tax There were also a number of cartoons published on the Aus Boards forum, which I didn’t mind so much bar some of the content. I have created some similar ones using the originals as a template to fire back - they shown on the right. Fire One: The original image had the Monopoly logo added, with the word “Monopoly” replaced by the dirty “C” word. The places were Minority Groups, Trade Unions, and Macquarie Fields all getting close to the same amount of money – and then the Community Chest symbol said “Class Struggle”. Class struggle? That’s talking like helping these struggling people will create nothing but trouble. What a load of rubbish, and it shows how little Lowe understands about general society. That’s why I used Redfern (the Aborigines) as one example in my version – as well as Toorak to illustrate my point that with the Reaction Party’s idea of correct policy there would nothing in the community chest. The community chest MUST be full for everyone to get what they need to live a full and reasonable life. Not everyone can do it alone. Fire Two: The original uses the “C” word again at the top, and below it read, “Don’t let your hard earned go to some other bludger”. The name on the bag was “Tax Man”. This is another example of refusing to help those who need it, and preferring to force those who cannot earn money to the gutter. And allow CEO’s pay packets to bulge beyond reasonable levels. This also encourages the transfer of money into those pockets – it has to come from somewhere and the losers are the poor as the gap between them and the rich gets wider and wider. Fire Three: The original read, “Who rewards hard work? It sure as hell isn’t the Action Party”. The bottom line read “ripping off hard working Australians since 2003”. Hard working? I’ll go the extra mile and say “Glorified slavery”. I am dead against that because it creates a stress level that is way too high. The human body and the human mind can only take so much, and Lowe is quite happy to push that envelope for the sake of a buck. He has no true appreciation for human life. Fire Four: The original here read, “Fight censorship”. I will always advocate censorship under certain circumstances. In fact it’s needed to head off extremism of all sorts. Lowe wants everything out in the open. He clearly has no issue whatsoever with a repeat of the Cronulla Riots, because that is what will happen if he got his way. There is way too much hate going around for any free reign to exist without some sort of checking system in place, and some sort of compulsory accountability level. And it has to go for everyone – on all sides of the political fence. With a high enough level of scrutiny, the loose lips of the likes of Pauline Hanson will very quickly be silenced – and I call that a good thing for the stability of society. Fire Five: This was the only image I did off the bat. And really, it was nothing more than a way to use the Australian sporting colours (green and gold) and a fancy font. I’ve never been good at truly original cartoons. I can reply in that form (the old “treat a person the way they treat you” routine which I’m very comfortable with) but original artistry is not my forte. Basically this is a reflection on the basic policy structure of the Reaction Party. Fire Six: The original read “stamp out” the “C” word, and under the boot was the Action Party logo. Because the Reaction Party was too lazy to have it’s own logo; I just put the words I did in there. There were some other quotable remarks from Lowe. I used some in the comment section of the relevant policies in the Action Party area, but there were some other comments that are worth preserving for their sheer intolerance and lack of social awareness. I mean i cant believe the govt is even considering this. The tent embassy has been a blight on the nation's capital since these people first moved in there. It's not a political statement it's just a dropout place. It's just a dump, and it has just got to be bulldozed. It needs to be bulldozed and bulldozed like tomorrow. and these people need to be shipped out. Nothing else should be built there. Absolutely nothing. It is an absolute disgrace. This was in response to a story that the Aboriginal Tent Embassy in front of the old Parliament House would be preserved in a major way. I gave it to him in reply and he said nothing else on that subject. The drug which is used to treat a disease which I believe doesn't even exist has now been listed on the pharmaceutical benefits scheme, which means you and I will be subsidising a drug for kids who could be better treated with a good kick up the backside. This was Lowe’s response to Ritalin – a common tranquilliser and treatment for ADHD – being added to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS). His view was that ADHD doesn’t exist, which is one heck of a crock and a show of his lack of awareness. For the record though, I agree that Ritalin shouldn’t have been added because I am against meds for Autistic Spectrum Disorders. The Reaction Party cannot be held responsible if the Action Party lacks the fundamental economic knowledge to understand basic economic and social policy. This was in reply to my challenge to stop creating cartoons and start asking questions and answering mine. Which he never did out of sheer embarrassment! You need to redress your short term memory issues and read the Reaction Party thread. If i have not stated a policy it is because a) i agree with the way it is currently being done, or b) havent got around to drawing up the policy. My party has been going for the best part of a few days. Excuses! The contents of the thread in question are reflected in bullet points at the top of this page. Because of the flat tax rate, employers will be scrambling to set up business and employment opportunities in Australia. This was laughable to say the least. Who would work on a low wage on a flat tax rate? No one would and rightly so. This is a policy even the Liberal party would never consider. The current government has redressed the failings of the Keating Govt by lowering the higher tax brackets. As a result, more incentive was created for employees to work for promotions, companies were willing to employ more people, which is why we currently enjoy 30 year lows in unemployment rates. One of these days I’m going to get the stats to show that the reason why the rate has dropped is because the amount of full time work has dropped, and the participation rate has also dropped. Unlike the Action Party, the Reaction Party encourages political debate to help further the democratic process. We are confident of our policies and can defend them when they are put up for debate or challenged. Oh sure – really confident! If I put those bullet points to the people of Australia the Reaction Party would be buried in one fell swoop! And not only that, the sort of material Lowe was coming up with would increase the hate in society making Lowe the laughing stock of Australian politics up there with Pauline Hanson! We have been having shoved down our throats for so many years that multiculturalism will work. This is from the politicians. Multiculturalism doesn't work in this country and will never ever work. Lowe said this the day after the Cronulla riots, and went on a whine about the Lebanese not respecting Australian values. Funny – he also mentioned other countries that are in fact the proof of success of the multiculture. Especially Italian and Greek! A website was created, and I scored a big hit thanks to a group of friends and the computers at the State Libraries of Victoria and New South Wales and the National Library by rigging the poll very effectively. The last vote count I recorded was as follows;
I did do more work and managed to push the Reaction Party to last, and had the other lower parties up to something like 12 to 15 votes. I had the Action Party up a lot higher in vote numbers and the upper parties over 20 but I didn’t record the last vote count. The embarrassment of the poll clearly led to the website being changed to some medical thing, and the Reaction Party died – as it should have. The site was been resurrected as a general political portal with a single claim that "Having accounted for the Action Party, the Reaction Party turns its attention to having your voice heard." He has been told that the Action Party is alive and well. But the site then went down again - and finally it was gone for good. Also Lowe didn't post on Aus Boards at all from February 8, 2006 to May 4, 2007 and never again, and not at all after December 21, 2005 on the forum where this whole thing started. The Aus Boards forum is now gone. |
